Parenting is personal. This page explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what control you have.

Last updated: 2026

1. Who we are

Connected Parent is operated by Connected Parent LLC, trading as Connected Parent. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice — meaning we decide what data is collected and why.

Contact: hello@connectedparent.org

2. What we collect and why

  • Account data (name, email address, login credentials) — to create and secure your account and give you access to what you've signed up for. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • Email signup data (email address, the guide you requested) — to send the free resource you asked for and, if you opt in, occasional parenting emails. Legal basis: consent; you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Learning activity (courses started, lessons completed, worksheet reflections, quiz answers, saved plans) — to show your progress and personalise recommendations. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • Support messages (emails, form submissions) — to answer you and improve our materials. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Usage and device data (pages viewed, referring page, browser and device type, IP address, approximate location) — for security, fraud prevention, and understanding which resources help. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Purchase records (what you bought, when, and your entitlement) — to give you access to paid materials and keep records. Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe, not by us. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.

Please avoid sharing clinical details about your child that you would not want stored. Anything you type into worksheets is stored with your account so you can return to it.

3. Who we share data with

  • Service providers / subprocessors — hosting and database providers, email delivery providers, and analytics tooling, acting on our instructions.
  • Stripe, our payment processor, for the sale of our products, subscription management, payments, invoicing, and tax reporting.
  • Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where needed.
  • Authorities — where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where data is transferred from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and learning data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return. Purchase and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires. Email marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • request deletion of your data;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time (for example, unsubscribing from emails);
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data — we do not sell it;
  • complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Email hello@connectedparent.org to exercise any of these; we respond within one month.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted administrative access. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We may use limited analytics cookies to understand which pages are useful. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the site from working.

9. Children

Connected Parent is intended for parents and caregivers. Accounts are for adults; we do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children.

10. Changes

We will post updates to this notice on this page with a new "last updated" date. See also our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.
